BELARUS SH-406

BELARUS SH-406 versatile chassis is a transportation-traction vehicle designed to fulfill a wide range of operations in various industry fields: building, road repairing, municipal industry, farming and forestry, melioration operations, etc.

Mechanisms and attachment points for building-block approach to the working equipment for various purposes, a wide speed range, and perfect traction characteristics provide the multifunctionality of the chassis.

The chassis is equipped with front, rear, and side (left and right) hitch mechanisms (4 pairs of front hydraulic drive attachment points; 6 pairs of side hydraulic drive attachment points; 4 pairs of rear hydraulic drive attachment points), dump loading platform, independent mechanical front and rear power take-offs, hydraulic system with front, rear, and side outlets, hydraulic speed reduction gear.

Instead of a load platform the chassis may be fitted with specialized mobile equipment.

The rear hitch mechanism is unified with MTZ-82 tractor providing building-block approach of the chassis to a wide range of machinery and equipment operated with categories 1,4-2 BELARUS tractors. The chassis is an all-wheel drive vehicle featuring the characteristics of a hauler and category 2 tractor. The chassis is equipped with basic units of BELARUS tractors: engine; clutch; gearbox with a reduction gear doubling the number of gears; sped reduction gear; front and rear axles; steering control; rear hitch system; hydraulic equipment, etc.

The body with basic tractor units is based on a frame made with side rails connected with cross-rails.

D-245.2 120 hp engine complies with EU standards.

The clutch is dry, double-disk, spring-loaded; the clutch housing is fitted with a reduction gear and the hydraulic system pumps. The gearbox provides 14 front and 4 reverse drives.

The rear axle is fitted with a main gear, differential and final drives.

The portal type front axle is adjusted to the frame via bow springs.

Basic units high unification rate of the chassis in regard to BELARUS tractors provides a high reliability index of the chassis. Due to this fact the operation of the chassis is much easier; maintaining and repairing processes may be carried out at network of services for BELARUS tractors; spare parts supply is much easier; there is no need for special education of personnel.

The production of basic unified chassis components on the basis of tractors production facilities provides better conditions for the chassis production and allows to increase the volume of production of the chassis.

The chassis is designed for building-block approach to more than 50 sorts of working equipment:

Hitch systems, front and rear PTOs, and hydraulic PTO allow the SH-406 to operate the specialized equipment produced by foreign and domestic factories.

The chassis in combination with a wide range of equipment may be used for various operations:

  1. General purpose operations (see chart) -- fright service; transport operations in bad roads conditions; power supply and welding operations; compressed air supply; load-lifting and earth-moving operations
  2. Farming (see chart) -- grass cutting; additional fertilizing, spraying, and watering; grain loading; sowing in combination with other technological operations; reclamation operations and mowing of soil-reclamation canals; well-boring
